Career biography

Award winning designer Tan Parmar has 17 years' experience on both consumer and customer magazines. His work has involved creating new magazines and re-designing existing titles, art directing photoshoots, designing websites and logos.

Graduating with a Design Studies degree, Tan began his career on women's weekly titles including Best for publishers Gruner und Jahr, UK. With the mid nineties boom in customer publishing Tan progressed up the career ladder working for agencies including River, Citrus and John Brown. He worked across a vast range of brands including Asda, Superdrug, BMW, MoreThan Insurance, Royal Bank of Scotland and NatWest and acquired the essential experience of understanding clients' needs and developing editorial design solutions to suit.

While at John Brown, Tan worked on many successful new business projects including Sky, BDO StoyHayward, JD Sports, Transport for London, H R Owen and Prudential.

In Tan's most recent role at Redwood as Group Art Director, B2B titles, he has been recognised for his talent with nine design awards including three designer of the year awards for his work on business title Contact for Royal Mail and automotive title LIV for Volvo cars.
