The cover to the latest issue uses a simple fluorescent colour treatment, big coverline and illustrations by Supermundane. All wrapped within a bellyband warning readers of a ‘happiness overdose inside’.

So, my editor asks "Shakespears 'Seven Ages of Man'…niche marketing…what's the next cover going to be…?" My reply was simply "…a heptagon on the cover…you open each segment like a flap…et voilå…"

A Contact cover to die for
The Winter 2010 issue of Contact has a cover, quite literally, to die-cut for. The cover and page three are cut through revealing messages about the theme of the issue, Delivering Audiences. The background imagery was taken by reknowned landscape and architectural photographer Andreas Schmidt.

Last summer the APA (Association of Publishing Agencies) asked me to redesign their logo and associted branding material. Take a look at the new designs.
 
The holier than thou Contact font - ChevinEco
This summer's 2009 issue of Contact goes all green and focuses on sustainable marketing. As well as using recycled images and artwork made out of bark, I commissioned an 'eco' version of the Chevin font family. The aim - to use at least 30% less ink.
 
Sticky stuff
The latest issue of Contact is out now and features an innovative 'postcard' cover theme that you can personalise with stickers, illustrated by Mr. Bingo. Again, another great demonstration of how direct marketing can be editorialised. |
